There are multiple ways of experiencing Uniview:
1) Install enterprise edition on your own promise following Quick Start
Uniview is known to have an ease of self-managing even better than open source softwares due to self-contained packaging. As recent change, a Uniview key is not needed for small OpenStack deploy up to 256 threads for a small to medium clouds. Enterprise starter edition is perfect fit for an enterprise looking for better OpenStack frontend along with seamless metric and day 2 monitoring etc at no cost. If the OpenStack backend is relatively large, there may be restriction applied, please contact to get a full enterprise edition for limited time! The public cloud edition is very similar with addition of features for public cloud. Install of enterprise edition and public cloud edition are generally same, though administrating public clouds is expected to have more lengthy billing proceeding.
2) Experience with our trial env by accessing
The demo presents a fair good view of what Uniview is like. However due to constraints, there may be limitation for the access to the administrator features, such as admin dashboard, billing backends, hypervisors, identity management, ceph cluster etc. The demo cloud is not a permanent setup, hence not guranteed to have all features ready all the time. To have a thorough view approach 3 with a prepared in person demo is always ready too! Alternatively, upon request, granting access to a second trial env with limited time and full admin permission can be facilitated.
3) Schedule a 30 minutes demo with us
A demo with us is highly recommended that with full admin access and various envs can be brought up for different feature showing that a single demo and tenant access can not display.
Some basic info, e.g. who we will talk too, timezone preferred might be required to such.
4) Self-paced install on your premise by asking a dedicated public cloud build
Per request with necessary info of a client, a public cloud package will be prepared in short manner, so that you can have a close-up testing, gap identifying etc. The trial and test window is free. It's highly recommended to have your OpenStack backends up and running beforehand.
Uniview primarily is priced based on the scale and the supports required for a cloud.
The scale is normaly represented by the number of cores presented by Hypervisors, or vcpus usable for virtualization. The number of vCPU is equivalent to the threads number, or the number of Core multiplied by 2 when hardware supports hyperthreading. Further detail of the hypervisor core used in pricing in reference to eventual cloud tenant vCPU capacity is that the capacity is the value of number of cores multipled by virtualization ratio of 5~8. One example of way of using CLI to obtain such:
$openstack host show ubuntu06
| vcpus | 16
| vcpus_used | 8
Support can be critical for technology intensive and complex enterprise offering. Uniview Supports are flexible from getting a cloud going that conventional features will just work, to achieving more comprehensive leading clouds when advanced features are required and the integration curve becomes bigger. Some use cases of a cloud include such as:
For large deploy such as at carrier grade, business model other than license based will be on case by case basis.
Uniview works with majority of OpenStack deployments, such as RHOP, Kolla Ansible, Canonical Juju, Mirantis OpenStack etc. To have all features to be presented by Uniview properly to customers, configurations on your OpenStack backends may be required to have it working in the way preferred.
Uniview has also partnerships that most of such configuration complexities can be skipped by using prescripted integrations that many feature are ready out of box without extra attentions, such as MFA and Application Credential etc.
One of our major parters is OpenMetal, a US based OpenStack As A Service provider. Browse here if any Partner Programs can benefit you!
Most Get-started business customizations don't need code change, and administors can easily do so following docs. Often with the business evolving, deep customizations are needed! As the frontend solution, the uniqueness becomes even more critical. Common customizations includes billing, email template, theme, customer onboarding process, dashboard, SSO and integrations with other applications. For many of them, Uniview already supports white-labeling changes, i.e. through no coding editing static files, then repackaging. For advanced changes, Computingstack promises to accomplish within weeks to month frame after requirements are fairly clarified! Most of customizations of a specific customer project will become a sole feature of the customer and will not be available to the public however.

Frequenlty Asked Questions
Find the answers for the most frequently asked questions in Sales and Get-started
How mature is Uniview?
Uniview is ready on business wise. However it's never envisioned to have all features for all customers. That's being said for a specific deploy, it's not surprising to have not functional features at initial. In quick turn around, a specific deploy will be adjusted with modules/features hiding or deletion.
What timeframe from initial install to operation ready?
Practically 1-2 months! From our experiences, things to prepare are mainly about Uniview High Secure/Available setup, and finising one billing cycle practice from bill generation to final accouting auditted correctly. There might be time to spend on tackling integration configurations with Cloudkitty, Keystone, Gnocchi. However we offer intensified support at early phase to flatten the curve to have best time to market.
What Openstack Metering Solutions Uniview Supports?
There are multiple ways of metering: 1) CGC (Ceilometer+Gnocchi+Cloudkitty); 2) Uniview-Collector, a RabbitMq based event collector that started from July 2024, provides an out of box metering/rating solution when CGC are not installed. 2) Other 3rd party solutions such as Sardina BeanCounter; or other existing RabbitMq based metering, such as Yuyu and Fleio. Uniview has a seamless support of approach 1) and 2) as highly recommended solutions. In the latter case of 3), Uniview will provide users a customized bill aggregation module to adapt to the data sources.
How Uniview is self manageable, e.g. without support?
It's highly recommended to have base level support from us for certain period. There are many details Uniview implements for a public cloud that docs or other online resource can't explain well. Once service enters a stable status, e.g. after months, our support can become optional
What payment gateways are supported?
Currently only Stripe Payment Gateway is supported.
Is Uniview white-labeling?
Yes! Most branding related configurations are admin self-configurable without code changes. And we also accommodate advanced configurations such as branding, template, theme related stuff within weeks timeframe when code changes are needed.
